The concept of Aging in Place means embracing a lifestyle where you can continue living in your home safely, independently, and comfortably, regardless of age or ability level. At its core, Aging in Place design is about ensuring homes evolve to meet changing needs, whether through updates to existing spaces or the creation of new ones, allowing individuals to thrive in their familiar surroundings for as long as physically feasible.
Whether you're proactively planning for the future or responding to immediate needs for yourself or a loved one, navigating the array of products and projects aimed at enhancing mobility within your home can be overwhelming.
At Adapted Nest Design, we specialize in guiding you through this journey. We're here to help identify barriers that hinder mobility and compromise safety, and then craft innovative solutions to transform your home into a haven of comfort and security.
Our mission is simple: to create spaces that not only accommodate your current needs but also provide enjoyment and peace of mind for your future at home.
It all starts with a site visit.
We'll gather information, document measurements, and take photos.
Then we'll present a visual report with recommended modifications and durable medical equipment products, where applicable
If your next step involves acquiring and installing products, we're available to assist with procurement and supervise installation. We have a network of recommended contractors that we can schedule and manage. We can also collaborate with your contractor or a handy family member.
If your home requires construction level remodeling, we provide full architectural services including space planning, 3D CAD rendering, documentation, and project management.
Our goal is to preserve your aesthetic style while incorporating safety components.

Experience
I graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1991 and am a registered architect in the state of Oklahoma. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of contributing to a diverse array of projects. From my tenure at firms like Urban Design Group and BSW, to collaborating with a leading interior design showroom in Tulsa, Oklahoma, my portfolio spans large retail centers, educational facilities, nationwide restaurants, and residential projects. I’ve also served on various facility committees at the church where I attend, working on projects ranging from doubling sanctuary capacity to remodeling efforts and a children's building expansion.
Vision
My true passion lies in residential design, serving Tulsa and the surrounding area.
Over the last 30 years I’ve designed custom homes and transformative remodel projects. My commitment to enhancing lives through architecture ignited with personal experiences of mobility challenges after a hip surgery and assisting elderly family members with home modifications.
As a Certified Aging in Place Specialist accredited by the National Association of Home Builders, I'm driven by a singular vision: to empower individuals to remain in the comfort of their homes. By prioritizing safety and functionality, I aim to cultivate spaces that not only provide peace of mind but also foster joy for you and your loved ones.
